Last Mage Standing is an indie virtual reality wave shooter. Square off against an endless horde of undead skeletons with fireballs and swords, fighting for the top score before falling.
To the last
Last Mage Standing takes place in a frozen, rocky land where a wandering mage has awoken an army of skeletons. Marching from their grave as one, these monsters use melee and ranged weapons to end the player's life. Armed with a fireball spell and any weapon which may become available, your task is to hold off for as long as possible. The actual combat, while extremely simple, is satisfying. Throwing a spell feels natural and accurate, sword swings have weight and momentum, and throwing axes land with a pleasing thud. The lack of content is this indie game become quickly apparent with just one map, one enemy type, and a singular AI which simply marches forward without thought. Updates have been made in the past with more promised in the future.
Guaranteed to fall
Last Mage Standing is a basic mini game with better than average controls. Despite the fact that barely ten minutes of content is on offer, something about the fighting system pulls players back.
